fashion blogger for fall trends

Chloe + Isabel

In addition to writing about fashion, another of my great passions is reading and writing about entrepreneurship. Fortunately this blog has given me the opportunity to meet a lot of talented people. One of them is Anna.

A couple of months ago, I had the chance to meet (through Internet) this amazing entrepreneur, stylish woman, and mom (how can she do it all!!), Anna Lisa Ciaccio. She introduced me to the lifestyle jewelry brand Chloe + Isabel.

Inspired by a concept they call “The Friendship Philosophy”, Chloe + Isabel are the names that represent two personalities:

Chloe, the fearless fashionista, always in search of the season’s hottest trends. And Isabel, the one that appreciates, above all, timeless, beautifully-crafted pieces.

Each piece is hand-designed in their NYC studio and for those with sensitive skin, all of their jewelry is hypoallergenic, nickel-free and lead safe. And believe it or not their prices start at $24 USD (check it out here).

For me Chloe + Isabel was the perfect description of what I look for in jewelry: unique, timeless and affordable.

After long emails with Anna and lots of fun choosing my favorite pieces (I made a list of like, 20 items… it was so hard to decide which one to wear for my post because I wanted them all)  today I share with you what I chose: the Scarab Statement necklace and bracelet.

Follow Anna for more of the hottest jewelry trends:

fashion blogger birthday

By the big 25…

It seems just like yesterday I blew out the candles for my 18th birthday. Last saturday the big 2–5 arrived so I took some time to think of what I did and learned through out these wonderful years, and today I would love to share these thoughts with you… hope you like them!

By the big 25….

1. You know how to choose your friends wisely,

2. And know that it’s not possible to keep them all.

3.  Now you know that wanting and having a relationship takes work, but it’s REALLY worth it.

4. You appreciate spending time with your family,

5. And find out your parents are cooler now than they were ten years ago.

6. But also, you know how great it is to leave home and see the world.

By the big 25….

7. You should start saving money.

8. And know that money can be a serious issue if not handled properly,

9. But also that splurging once in a while after working hard is pretty great.

10. You enjoy dressing up and attending fabulous events,

11. But you also know that staying in is as fun as going out.

12. You understand the real meaning of responsible drinking, not just for yourself, but also for others.

13. And start accepting that hangovers DO get worse over the years.

By the big 25….

14. You learn that quality is better than quantity.

15. You should know it’s okay to cry like a baby with a stupid love story or movie.

16. But that you’re old enough to speak for yourself.

17. You should know rejection is the one thing in life that makes you stronger,

18. And that you can still have some regrets even though people say “your old enough”.

By the big 25….

19. You understand the importance of saying no,

20. And that it’s okay to be selfish.

21. You now understand the real meaning of the word “confidence”,

22. And accept it is okay to not know everything,

23. You should know life is too short to worry all the time.

24. And that even strangers can make a difference in your life.

25. But most important you understand that being a quarter of a century old is really not that bad, it’s more of a blessing.

Sorry again for the bad quality of the photos but as I said before, I only had my iPhone.

xx,

Ale!

Weekend Getaway

Hello!

Last week was my first time in Los Cabos, and I have to admit I’m deeply in love with this place. I turned 25 last saturday and for my birthday I wanted to do what I love the most (besides from shopping), traveling. So I went to Los Cabos with my boyfriend and a couple of friends and this are some photos I took during my trip. I hope you fall in love with this view as much as I did when I was there.

And sorry for the not-so-good-quality photos but I only had my iPhone and I wanted to share with you this moment so I made this more of a on-the-go photoshoot.

Next week, I’ll be posting the photos of my birthday, so stay tuned.

xx,

Ale!

Going Neutral

Hello readers,

Many women think that wearing a neautral color will outshine their look , but today I’m here to deny this.  Although neutral usually means without color, wearing a neutral color could actually be a very good choice to outstand your assets. As they say “The brighter tones could not be so bright without the neutral tones.”so by contrasting a lighter tone with a bright one, could help us bring the viewer’s eye to where we want them to look (our assets).  Colors such as beige, ivory, taupe, gray and white (including black, but this time I’m talking about the lighter tones) appear to be without color so, what’s the best way to wear this color and still outstand your assets? Well,  wear a bighter tone in the things you will like to pop-up. For example a red or orange lip, or a bright metallic shoe or bag will look great. I’ll leave it to you to decide what asset to outstand. And you know what’s best? Neutrals are a trending color for the season.

Enjoy your day!

Hola,

blogging 101 for beginners

Blogging 101 – A dedicated post. (Mini-Series)

Hello reader,

A couple of months ago I received a question, (from a dearly follower on Google+), on how to start a blog. It was kind of difficult for me to try to write down in a couple of words the process behind it, since this does not start at the moment you subscribe to WordPress or Blogspot. It actually starts when you commit to doing so.

I had fun remembering how I started White Guru Mx’s blog. I can say it all started because of a necessity (sales and promotions) and somehow a passion for writing down my never-ending thoughts about fashion, business and technology. When I tried putting it in steps, it was kind of challenging. In my experience intuition and commitment play a huge role in the whole process. Commitment because without it, the whole purpose of blogging fails. And intuition because whichever your interests and blog topics are, you´ll need to go beyond the raw data, or any kind of information you know about your topic, and really let your mind speak.

blogging 101

So the first step on starting a blog – in my opinion – is to answer  3 simple questions before hitting the PUBLISH button:

  1. What topics are you interested in and will like to talk about in your blog?
  2. What value are you giving to your readers through your blog? (your blog’s value proposition)
  3. Why will they want to come back and read more?

If you can´t answer them, WAIT… maybe you’ll need to keep looking for the right motivation and purpose on doing this.

So think about it, write down your ideas and on the next post I’ll talk  to you about some tools that will help you get started.

About today’s post, I would like to say that I’m just trying to share my experience about this topic, so what I’ll write next is just my point of view. I’ve read about this topic a couple of times but I’m not an expert. That’s why I decided to start a mini-series blog posts about my blogging experience where I’ll share some comments of what I wish I’d known when I first started up. – Readers have questions, I give answers.
