fall trends color pink

Fall in Pink

Hi readers,

It’s been a while since I don’t post on the blog but these days have been really crazy. Good news, there will be amazing things coming to the blog. Soon I’ll tell you about them. In the mean while I’ve been really looking through tons of fall fashion items and colors to be able to share with you those top trends and here’s one of my favorite: Pink. From dresses to coats and shoes and bags, Pink was a color seen through all the fall collections. The good thing is that this very cute color could also be worn during spring 2014, as many of you saw in recent runways at fashion weeks. Here are some chic and trendy ideas on how to wear Pink. Pick the one you love the best to wear in fall.

Any other suggestions on how to wear this trend? Comment below

Hola,

Between summer and fall

Hi readers, I can’t believe we’re in September, time passes by so quickly…

In my world, September means three things: Vogue‘s September Issue, Fashion Week, and the beginning of autumn. Where I live the weather is still very hot but the nights start to feel a little bit chill. I like to think about it, as the perfect time to wear transitional clothing. For transitional I mean that you mix summer clothes  with fall/winter items. Today I would like to share with you my transitional outfit. I mix some short-shorts with a fall pattern, white buttoned blouse (ideal for summer or fall) and flower-pattern chunky heels.

What other pieces do you consider as transitional items?

What keeps you interested?

Hi readers I would like to start the week with a small thought…

Last week I had the opportunity to have a very interesting chat with one of my beloved friends. We talked about our lifes and some of our plans for the near future. Suddenly, she said to me she wanted to start something by her own but she really didn’t know how. I asked her about the area she would like to undertake, but she had no clue. So I thought we needed to take some steps back and ask her about the things she liked or enjoyed the most. But still her answer was “I really don’t know”.

I have to admit I’ve been in this same position some time ago and I guess we sometimes find ourselves trying to find a specific answer to this question. As if someone has the exact answer. So I told my friend that what really help is to take some time to think about this…

For some (including me) knowing where we want to work or what we would like to do in life is kind of hard. It might take us some time to actually realize and explain in one sentence what’s our dream job, relationship or life we want. But it really helps to stop for a while with our agitated life, look around and remember what you actually enjoy or enjoyed doing. What takes your sleep away at night? What are those topics or things you search on Google or books or Pinterest or E-Papers? You can start there. Write them down. I’ve done it and it works.

Take your time, think about it, write things down and in the next post we’ll discuss what things can be done now that you know this about you.

Fashion, Marketing and Entrepreneurship (creating new products/companies) is what keeps me interested and curious.

The Makeover

After two days and couple of songs heard on Spotify, I finally found the perfect song/playlist (Putumayo) to start this new post. Vacations are over and  I couldn’t be more happy to go back to school and begin my last semester of college. I hear the clock ticking every day louder for that last day of school. Although I sometimes feel a little terrified for the fact that it’s my last semester I’m definitely more excited for what’s coming next. New projects, a blog-lift and hopefully some retail courses are keeping me excited.

When big (positive) things happen in my life I like to make big changes in myself. I’m talking about a new haircolor, haircut, new shoes, dress, jewelry, to name some. And as White Guru Mx’s blog has been an important part of my life I’ve decided to make some changes too. I’ve always thought of this makeover as if I’m saying to the world, this is me now.

Here is what’s new.

Blog-lift

Blog de Modas Mexico

As you might have noticed there’s been a little change in the blog. From it’s look to it’s content it’s all kind of new.

I’m usually reading about the following topics and now I would like to share with you some of my thoughts.

 – Fashion > Fashion tab

– Startups, business and marketing > Entrepreneur Fashionista tab

 – Technology related to fashion > The Techie-Fashionista tab

I’m not an expert in these areas but certaintly I’ve been surrounded by and enrolled in activities concerning these topics. Hopefully with your comments we could all share our thoughts and make this learning journey easier and funner.

New Haircut

I went from really long hair to a shorter one. I wanted something new, fresh and chic so I decided to go for this hairstyle inspired on Elena Perminova’s style. It was a big change but I loved it.

There comes a time in life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. Surround yourself with people who make you laugh, forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living. – Unknown Author.

Hope you like the changes.

My Short Experience – Glass

Hello Followers,

I’m writing this short post just because last week I had the opportunity to try on Google’s Glass for the first time, here’s the whole story… Thursday night I was having dinner with my family at Whole Foods and suddenly I saw this guy wearing some unique glasses with a bright light on it, it reminded me of something I had seen before. I realized he was wearing Glass. Since I’ve been following and have written about Project Glass and Wearable Technology for some time ago, I saw this as an opportunity to finally test my assumptions on these devices. My brothers and I approached the guy wearing Google’s Glass and had the chance to try his glasses. From what I recall its main feature was to let you capture your everyday life and help you make some tasks in a more efficient way. So there I was, with this glasses on watching somebody else’s life. Here’s what I experienced..

When I first put them on, I had a little bit of difficulty trying to see what was on the screen. I guess this happened because it was my first time using them and didn’t know I had to focus my attention to the right eye. Then I saw this small screen floating in front of me with the time on it. Then the guy told me to make the swipe gesture on the right of the glasses to be able to watch some pictures he captured. It was so cool. He said that although Glass has wi-fi it needs to be connected (wire-less) to your iPhone to be able to work. He also told us that he wears it everywhere: while he driving, riding his bicycle, walking, running, etc. and that till now he has had no problem with it.

I really enjoyed wearing Glass for some minutes but I’m not quite sure if I will like to wear them everyday since I really had time trying to focus on the small screen. Maybe if the screen wasn’t that small it’ll be nicer. But the experience is just as I imagined it: amazing. And there’s no doubt I’ll buy them when they come out to the market.

Have you tried Glass? What was your experience? Or what’s your opinion about it?

Xx,

Alejandra Garcia
